Geometry Dash is a side-scrolling platformer with a retro, 8-bit feel. The player, controlling a geometric shape, will encounter a variety of obstacles along a level. The player must jump, flip, and roll to avoid these obstacles. The player can also make a level more difficult by enabling a special mode called Expert Mode. The player has a score which is increased when the player maneuvers past the obstacles. The player has a total of three lives before the game is over.
In Geometry Dash, the player controls a geometric shape, which is controlled by the player's cursor. The player must avoid obstacles in their way by jumping, flipping, and rolling. When the player eliminates a certain percentage of the obstacles in a level, the player can activate a special mode in which the player's speed is increased, the player's jump is increased, and a orb is given to the player. The player has three lives, and Geometry Dash is over when all three lives are lost. The game is based on rhythm, and the music is generated by the game. The game is in 2D, but you can use 3D if you want to. The game is mostly simple, but there are some hard levels. You can use power-ups to help you, like bombs and rockets.
The graphics of Geometry Dash are reminiscent of the old 8-bit era. The player's shape is never seen, and instead, the player is represented by a circle. The background displays a variety of colors and shapes, and the player's shapes changes colors depending on their speed.
