Nintendo Direct Scheduled for June 18, Focusing on Upcoming Switch Game Releases
- Jun-17-2024
A Nintendo Direct has been confirmed for June 18 with a substantial amount of info about new Switch games, but the publisher is already advising not to expect a Switch 2 reveal. The company has announced in a press release that a Nintendo Direct is on the way. The livestream will begin at 7:00 a.m. PT on June 18, focusing on Nintendo Switch games set to release in the latter half of 2024. The presentation will not address the successor to the Nintendo Switch.
You can watch the stream via YouTube, or bookmark this page and view the embedded video when the time arrives. 7 am PT converts to 10 am ET or 3 pm BST.
The lineup of upcoming first-party Switch games appears somewhat sparse at the moment. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is slated for June 27, and Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is set for July 18, but these are the only confirmed games for this year. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is scheduled for 2025, and Metroid Prime 4 is anticipated... eventually, though specific details are still uncertain. Rumors have circulated for some time about a selection of upgraded Zelda classics for Switch, but it remains to be seen what Nintendo actually has planned.
Undoubtedly, the meme for this Direct will prominently feature Hollow Knight Silksong. The Hollow Knight community is eagerly waiting for good news and can perhaps find peace and happiness once the details are revealed.
It looks like this is the last significant event on the Summer Game Fest calendar.
