Nikoderiko: The Magical World - A Nostalgic Platforming Adventure Awaits This October

The latest showcase at the Future Games Show during Gamescom unveiled new highlights from the throwback platformer Nikoderiko: The Magical World, an exciting tribute to the classics of the early 2000s. When Niko and Luna stumble upon an ancient artifact on a magical island, they quickly find themselves in a perilous situation as the relic is taken from them, putting both the island and its creatures at risk. To retrieve the artifact, they will journey through seven distinctive worlds, facing off against the nefarious Grimbald.

As they navigate through the various realms, players will encounter numerous boxes to break and secret treasures to find. With an array of movement mechanics—including simple ground pounds, climbable webs, and a parachute for soaring through the air—Nikoderiko offers diverse ways to engage with its vibrant environment.

The game clearly borrows inspiration from iconic platformers, evoking memories of beloved titles such as Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, and classic Disney adventures like Tarzan, Aladdin, and The Jungle Book.
